THE KINGDOM OF GOD

What is it? Where is it?

When is it?

Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Mark 9:1 “And he said to His disciples, “Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”

Matthew16:28 “Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”

Luke 17:20 “Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of Godwould come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

(Note: within you: entos – AV-within; 1) within, inside ; 1a) within you i.e., in the midst of you; 1b)inside you; 1b) within your soul. I can and does mean all three: ‘within’, ‘in your midst’, ‘in your soul’.

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (witnesses = martus = martyrs)

Acts 2:1 “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

How is it possible when Jesus said, “some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”?

Jesus has always been among us. When He was raised from the dead and ascended to the Right Hand of the Father, the Kingdom of God came with power upon us!

Jesus IS the Kingdom of God

near us,

in the midst of us,

within our soul

within us

Matthew 6:9

“Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.

10 ‘Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.

11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.

12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

These things are as true today as they were then, and will be unto the end of the age. Know it. Do it for His Glory.
