AND MAY YOU PROSPER EVEN AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS
Here is one Church’s slogan – “Enjoy Jesus and share Him with others?”
This strikes me as funny, though. You see, Jesus is not a ‘sharable delight’ like some kind of dessert nor is He a commodity, to be shared like a coke. So I offer this WARNING:
DO NOT DO “BIBLE LITE”
DOING “BIBLE LITE” is like treating the Bible as some kind of low calorie drink. You cannot ‘claim’ the Bible nor should you claim to be a Christian and expect anything from God, if you do not abide in Him
Instead, read these PROPHETIC Words of God and do them and tremble, so that you may PROSPER in all things.
I. AVOID GOD’S WRATH
Ephesians 5:6 “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
II. BE HOLY AND SEPARATED
7 Therefore do not be partakers with them;
III. STAY IN GOD’S LIGHT
8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light
IV. BE GOOD AND DO RIGHT
9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
V. PLEASE GOD
10 trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
VI. YOU, EXPOSE EVIL
11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
VII. YOU, AVOID EVIL
12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
VIII. YOU, DO RIGHT, FOR ALL YOUR DEEDS WILL BE EXPOSED
13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
IX. ARISE
14 For this reason it says,
“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”
X. BE WISE
15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
XI. YOU CAN UNDERSTAND AND DO GOD’S WILL
17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
XIII. BE CONTINUALLY FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
XIV. KEEP HIS WORD CONTINUALLY ON YOUR LIPS
19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;
XV. ALWAYS BE GIVING THANKS
20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
XVI. BE SUBJECT TO ONE ANOTHER
21 and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
I offer this PRAYER for all of us, “that these Words will dwell richly in our hearts so that we may observe to DO THEM all the days of our lives and that we may prosper, even as our soul prospers! Amen!”
