WHAT ARE THE ODDS?
Consider this: What are the odds of 1: 10 to the 138th power that something would happen? (A practical mathematical impossibility. Spell that “I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E”)
Numerically,
1:10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
These are the odds in favor of (or against) that there is any chance that any planet in the universe would have the life-supporting conditions. Yet, the EARTH has life.
Consider these facts:
I. Oxygen comprises 21 percent of the atmosphere. That precise figure makes life on earth possible. If oxygen were 25% fires would erupt spontaneously, if it were 15%, human beings would suffocate.
II. The transparency of the atmosphere is precisely balanced so that enough solar radiation reaches the earth’s surface to warm the surface and sustain life. If it even slightly more transparent earth be bombarded with far too much solar radiation for life to continue.
THESE TWO FACTS ARE NOT INTERDEPENDENT
BOTH are necessary for life.
III. The gravitational interaction between the earth and the moon is perfectly balanced. If it were greater tidal effects on the oceans, atmosphere, and rotational period would be too severe. If it were less, orbital changes would cause climatic instabilities and life on earth would be impossible.
IV. If the gravitational force OF THE EARTH was altered by 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000001 percent, our sun would not exist.
V. If the thickness of the earth’s crust were greater, too much oxygen would be transferred to the crust to support life. If it were thinner, volcanic and tectonic activity would make life impossible.
THESE THREE FACTS ARE NOT INTERDEPENDENT
ALL are necessary for life.
Finally, consider the probability calculation that a specific ribozyme (an RNA molecule capable of acting as an enzyme) might assemble by chance. Assuming that the ribozyme is 300 nucleotides long, and that at each position there could be any of four nucleotides present.
The chances of that ribozyme assembling are then 4^300, a number so large that it COULD NOT POSSIBLY HAPPEN BY CHANCE even once in 13 billion years, the age of the universe.
ALL OF THIS WOULD BE NOTHING MORE THAN A MATHEMATICAL OR A PHILOSOPHICAL EXERCISE in probabilities EXCEPT for the fact, that “co-incidentally”, the IMPOSSIBILITIES of JESUS coming and fulfilling biblical prophecies EXACTLY as foretold, is 1: infinitesimal odds. But it DID HAPPEN. All of these things are living proof that the
The IMPOSSIBLE has become Possible
The IMPROBABLE has become Present
The INVISIBLE has become Visible

Now, that is fact. And even science contributes to this Truth!
So when the Bible says, “All things are possible for you who are in Christ Jesus”, you can count on it!
