MY TRUTH, YOUR TRUTH OR THE TRUTH?

The LEFT claims there is no such a thing as a universal truth. The LEFT claims there are multiple versions of truth and that every person can have ‘their own truth’.

Everyone can have their own opinion or their own version of circumstances, but, there is only one basis for truth. The Truth is found in the person of Jesus Christ and through the Bible. Every other person or thing claiming to have their own truth are liars and they teach a lie.

“Multiple versions” of the truth is chaos and anarchy which lead to disputes, factions, wars and death. This is a ploy of the Leftist Marxists-Communists to divide and conquer. They perpetuate this lie, create chaos, then arrive to ‘save the day’ by declaring their truth and imposing that truth on everyone by way of despotism through a dictatorship. We are seeing that happen now. The United Nation’s Agenda 2030 claims to be ‘saving the world’ through their Sustainable Development Goals, (SDG) while enforcing their, ‘unenforceable and nonbinding edict’ as they call it, with a Global Elite Group named the World Economic Forum, (W.E.F. in Davos, Switzerland) and through the Addis Ababa Action Agenda who also serve as the planning and financing groups.

The outcome of this Agenda and plan for the long awaited Socialist-Communist-Marxist Global utopia is non-negotiable. You will comply and like it, because, to borrow a term from the famous Star Trek series, ‘resistance is futile’.

The One standard for Truth is the Bible and God of the Bible. When properly understood and properly applied, even by fallible human beings, you get the best results for living together and facing the difficulties of life.

RESIST

RESIST

But I say to you, do not show opposition against an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other toward him also.” Matthew 5:39, NASB

“Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7, NASB

So, which is it? Resist or not?”

In this day and age, we are faced with this question daily. How are we to respond in the face of an aggressive and spreading evil?

The Bible speaks on these matters but to get wisdom and understanding it takes prayer, study and discipline.

Let’s review these verses and study them:

Matthew 5:39, says, “But I say to you, do not show opposition against an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other toward him also.”  (New American Standard Version)

(1). “DO NOT SHOW OPPOSITION AGAINST”, versus, (2). “RESIST”.

(#1). DO NOT SHOW OPPOSITION AGAINST (Matthew 5:39): is the Greek word, ‘anthistémi’, which means to set against, i.e. withstand

Part of Speech: Verb
Definition: to set against, withstand
Usage: I set against; I withstand, resist, oppose.

Strong’s Concordance #436, anthístēmi, means to take a complete stand against, i.e. a “180 degree, contrary position”; figuratively, to establish one’s position publicly by conspicuously “holding one’s ground,” i.e. refusing to be moved (“pushed back”).

“oppose fully“, to forcefully declare one’s personal conviction; where they unswervingly stand; to keep one’s possession; to ardently withstand, without giving up  or letting go.

Anthístēmi, was a military term in classical Greek meaning “to strongly resist an opponent”  or to “take a firm stand against“.

(#2). RESIST (James 4:7): ‘anthistémi’, which means the same thing as “Do not show opposition against”.

NOTE: Both, in Matthew 5:39, the phrase “do not show opposition against” and James 4:7, the word “resist” come from the same Greek word and have the same definition!

So, what are we to do? Resist the devil or give in to and evil person? Stand firm or flee?

We need to look at the context of the surrounding words in these verses:

An EVIL Person vs the DEVIL

(#1). EVIL: is the Greek word, ‘ponéros’ which means, toilsome, bad.

Part of Speech: Adjective
Definition: toilsome, bad
Usage: evil, bad, wicked, malicious, slothful.

Strong’s Concordance #190ponērós’ is an adjective which is also used to mean pain-ridden, emphasizing the inevitable agonies and misery that always go with evil. Evil, grievous.

From a derivative of ponos; hurtful, i.e. Evil in effect or influence, and thus differing from the essential character or degeneracy from original virtue.

Figuratively, morally culpable, derelict, vicious, bad, evil, grievous, harm, lewd, wicked.

(#2). The Devil: ‘diabolos’ means slanderous, accusing falsely

Definition: slanderous, accusing falsely
Usage: slanderous; with the article: the Slanderer, the Devil.

Strong’s Concordance #1228,diábolos’  means to slander, accuse, defame”; unjustly criticizing to hurt or to malign, and condemn to sever a relationship.

From diaballo; a traducer –

  1. Something that converts energy from one form into another.
  2. Figuratively,a ‘computing theory or a formalism’ for describing computation, consisting of a set of states and a transition function describing when to move from one state to another, that generates output based on a given input. Specially, Satan.

see GREEK diaballo

see HEBREW satan

DO NOT RESIST an Evil (person): pain-ridden, emphasizing the inevitable agonies and misery that always go with evil. Diseased; but especially morally culpable, i.e. Derelict, vicious, bad, evil, grievous, harm, lewd, wickedness.

VERSUS

RESIST the Devil: slanderous, accusing falsely, slanderous; with the article: the Slanderer (par excellence), the Devil. Criticizing to hurt (malign) and condemn to sever a relationship. Diábolos is the root of the English word, “Devil”

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Again, a teaching of Jesus seems counter-intuitive and can test the soul of even the most dedicated man or woman.  It is difficult to understand – unless you are willing.

At first glance, this teaching sounds as if a disciple of Jesus is to stand idly by while an evil person slaps you about and perpetrates all kinds of evil to you and in your presence.

Some have even dubbed this teaching as “the law of non-resistance”.  It from this teaching that some call themselves “conscientious objectors”.

There are other examples and times when it seems Jesus teaches the contrary, such as, “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.” Matthew 7:6

Or, Jesus’ own example, at times, contradicts the “law of non-resistance”, such as when He turned over tables and whipped the money changers in the Temple.

But, again, context is everything.

FIRST, Jesus is telling us not to entangle ourselves in the affairs of evil men, even when they cast their evil upon us.  Instead, stay focused on Jesus’ Mission while actively responding to evil, by overcoming evil with good.

SECONDLY, God’s Word and methods are an intricate balance of mercy and justice, something we rarely see anymore.  Once you have “paid the debt” of forgiveness and kindness, do not linger.  If an evil person continues in his or her evil ways, “Shake the dust off your sandals”, so to speak, and move on.

James teaches this principal and its practice when he says, Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

A simple example of the law of “spiritual physics” is helpful.  Do this exercise with a friend:

  1. Stand face-to-face, within an arm’s length from one another.
  2. Each person should extend their arm until your hands meet halfway between one another.  (AN IMAGINARY LINE IS NOW DRAWN BETWEEN THE TWO PEOPLE.  THE PLACE WHERE YOUR HANDS MEET IS THE “LINE OF AGREEMENT”)
  3. Each person needs to slowly, at first, apply a forward pressure pushing on the other’s hand palm, as if you are trying to push your opponent away.  We will call this meeting of the palm of your hands the “LINE OF AGREEMENT” and you are metaphorically imposing your will on your opponent.
  4. Increase the pushing pressure as your opponent pushes back, trying to PUSH THEIR WAY into your space, imposing their will on you.
  5. One person, suddenly jerk your hand back toward yourself.  This will cause your “opponent” to fall forward and suddenly find themselves ON YOUR SIDE of the “ARGUMENT”

Thus, the principal of “Spiritual Physics:  RESIST NOT EVIL.

THIRDLY and finally, Jesus and the verse from James is telling us to recognize the root or the source of evil. This is subtle but critical in its outcome.

The Devil is the source of evil, and it is the devil who “casts through” or acts as the “transducer” converting his evil (energy) from himself into the willing or unsuspecting person.

If you are to overcome evil, to resist evil, it is the devil and his machination you must resist. And it is in this resistance that will cause the devil to flee from you as God draws near.

Whereas encountering and resisting or standing in opposition to a person who has been filled with this evil will only cause you harm and grief and would turn that person further from seeing the Truth. This is one reason Jesus says, “but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other toward him also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak also. Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.”  Do not entangle yourself with this person or the evil emanating from them, instead, reach out to the person caught in this evil.

Now, it is your turn:

HOW MUST YOU DO IT? _________________________________________

HOW YOU MUST TEACH IT? _____________________________________

This takes effort on the Believer’s part, both of spiritual disciplines and the effort of practical application.  But in the end, you have become a peacemaker and demonstrated that you are a Child of God, a disciple of the King.

THE GOD PARADOX

What exactly is a paradox? Is it even possible to have a “God Paradox”? Understanding this question may be one of the Great Secrets of truly being a disciple of Jesus and “Doing the Works He has done, and even Greater Works’ since He has gone to the Father.

In these “Last Days”, the God Paradox may be the one thing we are commanded to know and to do. In fact, this may be vital to our survival, as Jesus put it in Matthew 24:13, “But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

One example of this possible “God Paradox” can be found in Philippians 2:12-14:

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”

  • You work out your own salvation?
  • For it is God Who works in you?
  • To do and to works for His Good Pleasure?

Which is it? Is it you, working your salvation and doing His Works, or is it God doing His Works through you?

So, what exactly is a PARADOX? A seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well-founded or true.

This is one of the great ‘mysteries’ of the Bible and of our intersection with God. The Bible tells us it is possible to both UNDERSTAND this mystery and to have it ACT upon you and within you.

“To make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:26-27

I want to relate an example of this mystery by way of my Sunday School teacher.

This man is an accomplished man but a humble man. He is able to relate well to others and is a master storyteller. He is well studied and versed in the Word of God. I consider him a true disciple of Jesus and a great Bible teacher.

Recently, in a review of the Book of Philippians, he was pointing out the many reasons for our Joy, found in this great epistle.

He concluded and asked if there were any final thoughts or remarks or prayer requests. Some in the class had several prayer requests and one praise report.

Once it was quiet, I raised my hand and remarked that I had a prayer request. “First”, I said, “I want to thank you for bringing us these Prophetic Words today. I know that I will never be the same again. My prayer request is that we – all of us – recognize the Prophetic value of these verses and let these Words of God act upon us as we act upon them.”

Our teacher stammered the words, “Who me? Prophetic?”

I replied, “Yes, you. That is, God’s Word, by way of His Spirit, through you. And, thank you!”

He seemed speechless and almost incredulous.

Therein lies the manifest paradox:

  • We say it (the Word of God).
  • We say we believe it.
  • Indeed, we do believe it.
  • But, then, don’t we usually try to do it ourselves? Or we don’t try at all.

Once you have “Done the Works of Jesus”, then you are never, ever, the same again!

I want to cite just a few verses regarding “The Works of Jesus”, so we can be certain of the Standard:

Matthew 11:2, says, “Now when John, while imprisoned, heard of the works of Christ, he sent word by his disciples, verse 3, and said to Him, “Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?”

Verse 4. “Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you hear and see:

  • the BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT and
  • the lame walk,
  • the lepers are cleansed and
  • the deaf hear,
  • the dead are raised up, and
  • the POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM.

John 10:10, says, “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.

Verse 11. “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise, believe because of the works themselves.

Verse 12.  “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”

Verse 13. “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

  • The Father abiding in Me does His works
  • The works that I do, (you) will do also;
  • And greater works than these (you) will do; because I go to the Father.

We are commanded by The Prophetic Word of God, to Go into all the world, preaching the Gospel, making disciples, teaching them to do all the Jesus has commanded. We are to lay hands on the sick, and they will recover, tell the blind to receive their sight, tell the lame to walk, raise the dead, feed the hungry, take care of the widowed and orphaned, REMEMBERING that it is God within you doing these Works.

It is our willingness and our obedience, when God intersects with our life, which releases the Power of God through our lives.

PROPHECY IS WHEN WE PLANT THE SEED OF THE WORD OF GOD IN US, SO HIS WORD AND SPIRIT SPEAKS THE TRUTH TO US, AND HE CAN DO HIS MIGHTY AND RIGHTEOUS WORKS THROUGH US.

Your Brother and Friend,

Mike Young

Revelation 15:3 “And they sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations! “Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED.”

HEBREWS – Jesus’ Superiority and you

It is always good to read or hear the Word of God preached.  Sometimes sermons will tell you stories ‘about’ God, so you will come to know stories about the Bible and about God.  But, sometimes you may have to actually experience God, and it is then, you may come to actually know Him.

I like to say that “Knowledge which is not applied, is just idle information; and, wisdom which is not used, is just useless knowledge.”

This is the challenge we face: Not just knowing about God, but, actually coming to know Him and to apply that knowledge as He speaks to us and works through us in our circumstances, our prayers and activities.

Our relationship with God requires more than just knowing about Him. We must know Him, believe Him and we must follow Him, which requires our FAITH in ACTION.

Pastor and author Henry Blackaby points out, in his study “The 7 Realities For Experiencing God”, what we should know about God’s ways, His plans and His purposes. It illustrates how we can follow Him:

  1. God is always at work around you.
  2. God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal.
  3. God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.
  4. God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.
  5. God’s invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action.
  6. You must make major adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing.
  7. You come to know God by experience as you obey Him, and He accomplishes His work through you.

JESUS’ MINISTRY IS OUR MINISTRY

Our relationship with Jesus is more than ‘Just Knowing About Him’;  it requires Knowing, Believing and Doing.   Jesus has given us…

(a) The plan we are to follow,

(b) The purpose which is our purpose, and

(c) The ministry for us as His disciples.

The letter of Hebrews is an example of how God speaks to us, warns us, protects us and instructs us in His methods and ways. He has a plan for us, but, we are not just recipients of His plan, we are to be active participants. We are on mission with Him.

The primary theme of the letter to the Hebrews is “The Superiority of Jesus”. This book is not just stories from or about the Bible or about God, it is a letter, written, originally to the Hebrew Christians, and by extension, to all believers for all times. It addresses three separate groups: (1), believers in Christ, (2), unbelievers who had knowledge of and an intellectual acceptance of the facts of Christ, and (3), unbelievers who were attracted to Christ, but who rejected Him ultimately. It’s important to understand which group is being addressed in which passage. To fail to do so can cause us to draw conclusions inconsistent with the rest of Scripture.

You see, having become a believer in Jesus and having accepted His magnificent gift of salvation (sozo), you and I have entered into a Salvation Covenant with Him. We have agreed to certain terms, and, to go back on our word to Him can be an eternal and fatal mistake.

Read with me, and let’s gain knowledge for wisdom and wisdom for action. Let’s experience God and desire to do His Will:

Now,

Hebrews 1:1, says, “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, verse 2. in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the world. Verse 3.  And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

WHAT WE KNOW FROM HEBREWS 1:1-3

  1.  GOD SPEAKS TO HIS PEOPLE. God spoke to the fathers and through the prophets in many ways.

Why is this important to know?  (If you ask, He will answer you. If you are quiet, willing, listening and submitted to Him, you will hear Him.)

  1.  WE ARE IN THE “LAST  DAYS.

Why is it relevant to the Christian to know that we are in the Last Days? (There are a succession and a convergence of events occurring, which require Christians to prepare for participation.  Being unprepared or unwilling can lead to eternally catastrophic consequences.)

(Details about THE LAST DAYS are at this link.  Also, click on these blue words linked to “Last” and “Days”, separately, for the Greek translation.  Then, click on  green linked THE LAST DAYS for important details about THE LAST DAYS.)

  1.  God has spoken to us, IN THESE LAST   DAYS, in Jesus.

What is the significance of the reference of “IN THESE LAST DAYS” being linked to Jesus’ Name?

(First, Jesus said we are in the Last Days, and everything that follows in that context should be carefully observed.)

(Secondly, scriptures tell us that God has spoken to us in His Son, Jesus, and Jesus is giving instructions for how we can overcome the evil one and endure to the end and be saved in these days.)

  1.  Jesus is heir of all things.

What do we know about Jesus from these words? How does this impact us, as Christians, and, what is our responsibility?

(I am leaving this for you to search the scriptures and find the answers.)

  1.  God made the world through Jesus.

What do we learn about God and Jesus from these words? What does this say about our relationship with God, and what are the implications?

(Click on the green links for the answers.)

  1.  Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory.

What does this reveal about Jesus?

(Jesus is the “radiance” of God: The “apaúgasma – someone who literally “shines”, is only used in Hebrews 1:3, where it refers to Christ’s eternal radiance – supremely reflecting the effulgent glory of the Godhead. His eternal light breaks through all the darkness that keeps someone in spiritual ignorance (bondage), i.e. every resistance exerted by sin. This tells us that Jesus is the exact representation of God’s Nature. He is our example.)

  1.  Jesus upholds all things by the word – of – His – power.

Look at the Greek translation of the “word” and “power”. How does this explain Jesus’ power? What are the implications for you?

9. Jesus has ‘made purification for our sins’. (cleansed us of all sin).

(This fact is too wonderful and too amazing to fully grasp. But, we must remember what Jesus says about the Church is made holy by the washing with water through the word; and what He has said about confessing our sins, so we will be cleansed from all unrighteousnes.)

10. Jesus is seated at the right hand of God.

(And, according to Ephesians 2:6, “He has raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus”, at the right Hand of the Father.  For it is in Him that we live and move and have our being.)

Let’s recap:

Hebrews 1:1, says,

#1.   God spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, (God Speaks to us).

#2.  In these last days, God has spoken to us in His Son, (Jesus speaks to us)

#3.  Whom God appointed heir of all things, (Jesus is God’s heir, and we are joint heirs with Jesus)

#4. Through Whom, (that is, Jesus), God also made the world.

#5.  Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory, and

#6.   The exact representation of God’s nature, and,

#7.  Jesus upholds all things by the word of His power.

#8.  Jesus has made purification of our sins,

#9He is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

It is particularly important that, in these Last Days, we know our calling, our ministry and our mission. As Scriptures tell us, we are to be ‘doers of the Word and not hearers only‘.

…see you on the mission field!

Your Brother and Friend,

Mike Young

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN – Part 14

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN– Part 14

John 1:35-42, says,  “Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus as He walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you seeking?” They said to Him, “Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they came and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day; it was about the tenth hour. One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter).”

Everything recorded in scriptures is there for a purpose. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, tells us that, All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work. Nothing in scripture is solely for information or for casual reading. This is true in this passage from the Book of John.

It would seem that John 1:35-42 is simply a narrative of an event. Granted, it is a grand event, and although it is a narrative, it is much more.

These verses, (1), teach and describe who is able to recognize the Living God; (2), describe what our response and reaction to encountering Jesus reveals, and defines our inescapable responsibility and response once we have encountered Jesus. This is our model.

First, notice that although John was preoccupied with his disciples, the moment he saw Jesus, his attention was immediately turned to Him, and he exclaimed, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” And when John’s two disciples heard John speak of Jesus, they left him, ‘and they followed Jesus’.

It is never enough to just recognize Jesus and then to mentally or emotionally acknowledge Him.  Everything routine, stops. Jesus is the focus. This is more than our model to follow, it is the supernatural response for every believer and follower of Jesus: Confess and Follow.

“And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you seeking?” They said to Him, “Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they came and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day;

Please take careful note of this process:

When you begin to follow Jesus, He always engages you. Jesus asks these two disciples of John, “What are you seeking?”.

Imagine with me, for a minute, that Jesus would ask you, “What are you seeking?”. Notice, Jesus does not say, “WHO are you seeking”. How would you answer Him? (Please answer this before you go any further).

These two disciples answer, Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?”  Why would they ask this?

The answer becomes clear in the next words, ”He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they came and saw where He was staying, and they stayed with Him that day.”

They already know WHO He is, they wanted to spend time with Him – and they did.

Acts 4:13 tells us that when the rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem, and Annas the high priest, as well as Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, who were of high-priestly descent had gathered to ask John and Peter by what power, or in what name, have they done certain miracles.  As they observed Peter and John and saw their confidence, they understood that Peter and John were uneducated and untrained men, and they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.

Spending time with Jesus is the only way you can come to truly know Him. So, if you are to call yourself a Christian, a disciple and a follower of Jesus, you must spend time with Him.

Let me ask you, how do you spend time with Jesus? And, how much time do you spend together? What do you talk about?

We next see that “one of the two who heard John speak, and followed Jesus, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ). He brought him to Jesus.

Again, we see that the response to truly having found Jesus is to bring others to Him, beginning with your friends and relatives. This is not a burden to be carried, but a joyful response to having found the Living Christ!  Has this been your experience, too?

Finally, we see Jesus’ response,Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter).” Jesus knows His own, and He calls you by name.

What does it mean that Jesus will call you by your name? How can you actually ‘hear Jesus’?

JESUS’ MINISTRY BECOMES OUR MINISTRY

Our relationship with Jesus is more than ‘Just Knowing About Him’;  it requires Knowing, Believing and Doing.   Jesus has

(a) The plan for us to follow,

(b) The purpose which becomes our purpose, and

(c) The ministry for us as His disciples.

You see, having become a believer in Jesus and having accepted His magnificent gift of salvation (sozo), you and I have entered into a Salvation Covenant with Him. We will have agreed to certain terms.

If you have met Jesus, then He is calling you by name. Spend time with Him, starting now, and from Him gain knowledge for wisdom and wisdom for action. Let’s experience God and desire to do His Will.

THE RESISTANCE to the growing GLOBAL THREAT OF COMMUNIST-MARXISM and a One World Government

NOT WHAT IT APPEARS TO BE

Most of what you read or see in the media cannot be taken at face value. Most of it is a deliberate ruse or a misdirection or has an underlying or subliminal message. Much of it is about influence; trying to convince you of something or of a particular way of thinking; trying to sell you something you either need or do not need. Trying to reset your worldview, and it can be treacherous.

In fact, once your perception, perspective or paradigm has been influenced, then just about everything you see or read thereafter is interpreted through that lens.

For example, the recent news about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, (February 2022), can be interpreted based on how you view certain political ideologies. If you are a communist or if you live in Russia, your news will tell you that Russia is concerned for her border security and a provocation by the West and the United States’ encroachment on their borders via NATO.

Russian television Host Dmitry Kiselyov alleges that Ukraine is being pushed to escalate war in the Donbas by the United States and other NATO countries.

He goes on to say that Russia does not want war and neither do the separatist republics of DPR and LPR, Kiselyov said, adding that Ukraine is preparing to conduct an assault on the Donbas and already launching “sabotage and terrorist attacks” in Donetsk and Luhansk.

Kiselyov also claimed that U.S. President Joe Biden’s warning about an upcoming Russian invasion of Ukraine actually means the opposite.

“What it really means is that in the next few days, next week, America will come up with a provocation, or has already come up with it, in order to claim that Donbas, and Russia, have attacked Ukraine,” Kiselyov said.

If you are a President Biden administration adherent, you may be told that Russian President Vladimir Putin is responsible for record-high gas prices in the United States, coining the surge as the #PutinPriceHike and vowing that President Biden will do everything he can to shield Americans “from pain at the pump”, ignoring the fact that he stopped the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada and froze new oil and gas leases on federal lands.

The conservative press is saying that Biden is being criticized by both Democrats and Republicans for high gas prices, which have risen sharply under his administration even before Russia’s invasion. Many have publicly called for him to open up oil and gas drilling in the United States to lessen the country’s dependence on foreign oil.

Margaret Thatcher, Britain’s former Prime Minister is noted for saying, “It used to be about trying to do something. Now it’s about trying to be someone.”

And in the cases I have used as an example each one is trying to project themselves as someone they would like to be, and others as being someone they may or may not be.

Thatcher muses that ‘it isn’t as important as what you say, as it is what you get done’. And, Mrs. Thatcher had it right!

Now-a-days, people wanting to be in power will say whatever it takes to gain influence and power. This can put the rest of us in a position that we much choose a side based on the available information, most of which is dubious at best. Even then, it is not enough to make an assertion or a claim, it is in the doing that a matter is proven.

But The Truth still lives! There is one place you can gain the power of wisdom for understanding when making decisions. And, it is through the lens of wisdom you must filter information to arrive at the dependable conclusion of The Truth.

The Wisdom that reveals The Truth is reliably found in the Bible.  Unlike science, Biblical Wisdom and Truth deal with the foundations of understanding and core beliefs of the human experience. It is from these core beliefs, (the heart), which springs the issues of life.

Science, put simply, strives to delve into the science of nature and physics. Science deals with theories and data which require empirical evidence and is subject to constant reassessment and change, as history has shown.

The Bible, however, deals with the nature of humankind and has proven to be prophetic by its nature, inerrant in its accuracy and exacting in its application. Where one should support the other, mankind has myopically separated the two and set them at odds.

The first book of the Bible, Genesis, was written in or around 1445 BC, which makes it about 3,400 years old, but covers an incalculable length of earth history. This is where Biblical wisdom is stored. This Wisdom has been repeatedly and thoroughly tried and tested. And, over thousands upon thousands of years it has been found to be accurate, dependable and without error when properly understood and persistently applied.

NOTE: If you choose to dismiss this thesis of The Bible and of science without reading to the end and thinking this through, reading any further will just be a waste of your time. If, however, you are a critical thinker, please read on.

Proverbs 9:10, capsulates where this Wisdom is to be found, saying, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

Allow me to caution that you cannot read the Bible and reach the correct understanding if you read through a scientific or a natural mind.  The Bible says as much in 1st Corinthians chapter 2 verses 6 through 16, “We speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but just as it is written:

“THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,

AND WHICH HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HUMAN HEART,

ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”

“For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among people knows the thoughts of a person except the spirit of the person that is in him? So also, the thoughts of God no one knows, except the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God. We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. But the one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no one. For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.”

COMPROMISE IS A TOOL OF FOOLS AND LIARS

com•pro•mise

(ˈkɒm prəˌmaɪz)

n., v. -mised, -mis•ing. n.

  1. a settlement of differences by mutual adjustment or modification of opposing claims, principles, demands, etc.; agreement by mutual concession.
  2. the result of such a settlement.
  3. something intermediate between different things.
  4. an endangering, esp. of reputation; exposure to danger, suspicion, etc.

v.t.

  1. to settle by a compromise.
  2. to expose or make vulnerable to danger, suspicion, scandal, etc.; jeopardize: Such mistakes compromise our safety.
  3. to bind by bargain or agreement.
  4. to bring to terms.

v.i.

9.  to make a compromise or compromises.

10. to make a dishonorable or shameful concession: to compromise with one’s principles.

The most widely used variant of a compromise, which is a nothing more than a ploy, a plot and a scheme of deceit, is the Hegelian Dialectic.  Hegel’s theory of the dialectic is the method crafted in 1847 by the London Communist League (Karl Marx and Frederick Engels) and used to back up their economic theory of communism. Now, in the 21st century, Hegelian-Marxist thinking affects our entire social and political structure. The Hegelian dialectic is the framework for guiding our thoughts and actions into conflicts that lead us to a predetermined solution. If we do not understand how the Hegelian dialectic shapes our perceptions of the world, then we do not know how we are helping to implement the vision. When we remain locked into dialectical thinking, we cannot see out of the box.

The Communist-Marxist-Globalist movement, which emanates from within the heart of the United Nations, guided by their Agenda 2030 documents, skillfully uses this dialectic  method to have achieved their nefarious goals of a One World Marxist-style government which they brazenly say will be complete by the year 2030. This has been accomplished over the last 30 years without any effective resistance. What follows is a nightmare straight out of the Book of the Revelation, culminating at Armageddon.

BE PROACTIVE – COUNTERACTIVE

It is vital to counter the false information, the ‘fake news’, that is negatively affecting your life and your future. Remember that as important as it is to speak the truth in the face of lies, it is even more important, even vital, that we perform the Truth through Action.

By now perhaps you might ask, “So, what does this Truth look like?”

I will now take a decidedly and sudden turn back the Source of Truth, the Bible. Jesus says, in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” So, if you want to know what the Truth looks like, study the life, methods and ways of Jesus.

It would take more time and space than I can afford at this time to describe all of the characteristics and traits of Jesus, found in the Bible. But, referring to Him as ‘The Truth’ and ‘The Lion of Judah will get us started in the right direction. I want to focus on just one trait: The dependability and resolve of Jesus as The Truth.

WHY DID JESUS COME INTO THE WORLD?

 1.  TO TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH

John 18:37 “Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this I have come into the world: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.”

 2.  TO BRING A SWORD

Matthew 10:34“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Verse 35, For I came to TURN A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW; verse 36, and A PERSON’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.”

 3.  TO FULFILL THE LAW

Matthew 5:17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill the Law and the Prophets.”

 4.  TO CALL SINNERS

Mark 2:17 “And hearing this, Jesus *said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

 5.  TO SAVE THE WORLD

John 12:47 If anyone hears My teachings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.”

 6.  TO CAST FIRE & BRING DIVISION UPON THE EARTH

Luke 12:49 “I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! Verse 50,  But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! Verse 51, Do you think that I came to provide peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather to create division;

 “WHAT HE REALLY MEANT?”

John 14:12 “Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”

I have heard so many preachers, bible teachers and detractors alike, try to justify or explain away these Words of Jesus because they just cannot fathom the gentle and sweet ‘dashboard Jesus’ saying such things as we find in the verses cited.  These same confused preachers really get tied in a knot over John 14:12.  They will begin their commentary of teaching it with, “what this really means is…”.

Jesus said what He meant and meant exactly what He said.  He is our model for our counter cultural resistance to the growing global threat of Communist-Marxist-Globalism, And we need to get on with it.

Jesus’ time on earth was spent fulfilling the purpose, and will of His Father (Matthew 5:19, Matthew 5:39). Jesus was on a singular mission (John 6 :38) and nothing would stand in the way of accomplishing that mission: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Jesus had a divine appointment with a cruel Roman cross. Read what He said when Peter proposed to get in the way of His mission:

Matthew 16:21- 23, “From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.”But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.”

Jesus always, taught the Will of His Father, then, demonstrated what He taught. He expects us to do the same. Ephesians, chapter six, gives us a clear teaching and picture of the type of preparation and resolve we are to assume.

Strong’s Concordance: STAND FIRM (histémi): to make to stand, to stand

Definition: to make to stand, to stand

Usage: make to stand, place, set up, establish, appoint; mid: place myself, stand, set in balance, weigh; intrans: stand, stand by, stand still; met: stand ready, stand firm, am steadfast.

Stand, i. e. continue safe and sound, stand unharmed: Acts 26:22.

Stand ready or prepared: Ephesians 6:14.

Steadfast mind; 1 Corinthians 10:12.

(Who does not hesitate, does not waver, of one who vanquishes his adversaries and holds the ground, also of one who in the midst of the fight holds his position against the foe, to persist, continue, persevere: (so as not to fall from thy faith).

Ephesians 6:10-17, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Jesus’ demonstration of steadfast, unmovable courage:

CONFRONTING THE STORM

Mark 4:35-41, “On that day, when evening came, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him. And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up. Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

CONFRONTING DEMONS

Luke 8:26-33 “Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. And when He came out onto the land, He was met by a man from the city who was possessed with demons; and who had not put on any clothing for a long time, and was not living in a house, but in the tombs. Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me.” For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and yet he would break his bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert. And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion”; for many demons had entered him. They were imploring Him not to command them to go away into the abyss.

“Now there was a herd of many swine feeding there on the mountain; and the demons implored Him to permit them to enter the swine. And He gave them permission. And the demons came out of the man and entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.”

BEFORE PILATE

John 19:8-12  ”Therefore when Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid; and he entered into the Praetorium again and said to Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. So Pilate said to Him, “You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?” Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.” As a result of this Pilate made efforts to release Him, but the Jews cried out saying, “If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself out to be a king opposes Caesar.”

BEFORE THE SANHEDREN

Matthew 24:57-67, “Those who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together. But Peter was following Him at a distance as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and entered in, and sat down with the officers to see the outcome.

“Now the chief priests and the whole Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death. They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward, 61 and said, “This man stated, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to rebuild it in three days.’” The high priest stood up and said to Him, “Do You not answer? What is it that these men are testifying against You?”  But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”  Jesus *said to him, “You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard the blasphemy;  what do you think?” They answered, “He deserves death!” Then they spat in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him.”

Jesus did not draw back.  He proceeded boldly to the Cross and secured our salvation!

Remember, Jesus came to earth for these stated reasons – and these same reasons are our method and our calling:

TO TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH. This, too, is our calling!

TO BRING A SWORD. This, too, is our calling!

TO FULFILL THE LAW. This, too, is our calling!

TO CALL SINNERS. This, too, is our calling!

TO SAVE THE WORLD through Jesus. In a very real sense, this, too, is our calling, by lifting the Name of Jesus, telling others and leading them to Him

TO CAST FIRE & BRING DIVISION UPON THE EARTH. This, too, is our calling!

Don’t be led or misled by the sheep or the hirelings. Follow the Lion of Judah!

RESIST

THE LESS FORTUNATE – A code word of the self-reliant for ‘the poor’?

We often hear the term, “The Less Fortunate” and are encouraged to help them in various ways, most often by doing for them what they cannot or will not do for themselves, which rarely has any lasting effect. Charities have all-too-often become an enterprise in and of themselves, perpetuating the needs of “The Less Fortunate”.

What is being “Less Fortunate” or poor? Poor, to one person, can be all together another thing to yet another person. Being poor is relative, it is nothing more than a set state of mind.

For example, if you cannot pay your bills, buy food or shelter and cannot afford medical care, you are poor, indeed. And, if you are of that lowly state, anyone who could afford just the basics of the aforementioned needs of life, would appear to have a life of sufficiency. And, for those who have any excess of these necessities would likely be considered well off. We can go on up the social and financial strata until we cannot even relate to the great wealth some possess. But, even with the mega-wealthy, a mental poverty can exist – always wanting or needing more. It is all relative.

THERE IS A TEACHING BY JESUS WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL AND THE POWER TO PERMANENTLY CHANGE YOUR LIFE, lift you from the most dire, humble and meek of circumstances and to place you under the protection and within the plentiful and abundant provisions God has prepared for you.

This teaching is neither hidden nor is it new. It is as old as Moses, when he told the Israelites, “You may achieve success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success.

Jesus is teaching about ‘spiritual and soul poverty’ which afflicts the soul, mind and body. This poverty is not only the lack of financial means, but it is to be destitute of the wealth of learning and intellectual culture which the schools afford; and people of this class most readily gave themselves up to Christ’s teaching and proved themselves fitted to lay hold of the heavenly treasure.

It is not hidden from sight  –  it is hidden in plain sight. Read what Jesus says to the ‘Rich Your Ruler’ in Matthew 19:21:22, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.”

After overhearing this statement by Jesus, Peter selfishly lamented, saying, Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?”

And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms on account of My name, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last; and the last, first.

This young man sadly misunderstood what Jesus is saying, as have so many since that time. Jesus is teaching about changing your perspective, your attitude and taking your focus off the temporal to the eternal. As Jesus taught again, in Matthew 6:19-20, you are to take your mind off of what the moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal, and store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal”.

Put another way, we look not at the things which are seen, but our focus should be on the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.  2 Corinthians 4:18.

Also in Hebrews 11:3, “By faith we understand that the world has been created by the word of God so that what is seen has not been made out of things that are visible.”

Now, in regard to ‘The Poor’, Jesus begins this teaching with,

For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me. Matthew 26:11.

The broader context of this event is about how our attitudes and beliefs are expressed by our actions. We are defined as “poor”, whether it is a good sense or a bad sense, by how we express the deepest held core beliefs of our heart.

You find the entire context of this teaching in Matthew 26:1-13, “When Jesus had finished all these words, He said to His disciples, verse 2, “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be handed over for crucifixion.”

Verse 3. At that time the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest named Caiaphas; verse 4, and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him. Verse 5. But they were saying, “Not during the festival, otherwise a riot might occur among the people.”

Verse 6-13. “Now when Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the Leper, verse a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very expensive perfume, and she poured it on His head as He was reclining at the table. But the disciples were indignant when they saw this, and said, “Why this waste ? For this perfume could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.” But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why are you bothering the woman? For she has done a good deed for Me. For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me. For when she poured this perfume on My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial. Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told in memory of her.”

Poor: from the Greek word, ptóchos means to be beggarly-poor; to be thoroughly frightened, to cower down or hide oneself for fear; hence, one who slinks and crouches, often involving the idea of roving about in wretchedness; as respects their spirit, it is to be destitute of the wealth of learning and intellectual culture which the schools afford; men of this class most readily gave themselves up to Christ’s teaching and proved themselves fitted to lay hold of the heavenly treasure.

Usage of this word, poor (ptóchos), is to be destitute, spiritually poor, either in a bad sense or a good sense.

See Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor, (ptóchos), in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

See Matthew 4:2, And after He had fasted for forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. This word, ‘hungry’, comes from the primary Greek word, “peno”, (to toil for daily subsistence); starving. Indigent, poor. Compared to ptochos, feeling the intense pinch of extreme lack.

Here, Jesus is setting the example for us, of how we are to overcome this life through extreme testing and trials as we are led by the Holy Spirit.

Peter teaches and encourages us, In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;” 1 Peter 1:6-7

I want to unequivocally state that no one needs to continue to be “Less Fortunate”. Although others may attempt to cast you into that light or to inadvertently lure you to stay in the trap of the “Less Fortunate” by hampering your progress through unnecessary charity, you do not need to remain there. Those who are sufficient, often inadvertently lure you to stay in the trap of the “Less Fortunate” by providing what God has already set aside for your health, wealth and wholeness, so that you will be made whole, healthy and safe.

And, you do not need to worry or strive for riches in your journey. The Apostle Paul reminds us, “Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you.”

Jesus, Himself, said, No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his life’s span? And why are you worried about clothing? Notice how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin thread for cloth, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.Matthew 6:24-33.

Ask, and it will be given to you; Seek, and you will find; Knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.Matthew 7:7-11

Please let me repeat, no one needs to continue to be “Less Fortunate”.  The Bible teaches and show a multitude of examples where Jesus heals the sick, restores the infirm and enables the weak. God has already set aside for your health, wealth and wholeness, so that you will be made whole, healthy and safe.

(I know this is a difficult teaching for those who are caught in the snare of poverty, sickness and need. But if you will begin today  –  right now  –  to follow Jesus, and over time and with much difficulty, you will find relief and your rest.)

If Jesus says:

Therefore if the whole church gathers togetherand all the people speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are insane? But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.

WHICH HAVE YOU DONE?

WHICH SHOULD YOU DO?

WHAT DIFFERNCE DOES IT MAKE, ANYWAY?

Joshua 1:8-9 says, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will achieve success.  Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Furthermore, did Jesus really,,,

  • Call people hypocrites?!
  • Say His Father will put your enemies under your feet?
  • Tell religious people they do not understand the power of God?
  • Hit people with whips of cords!?
  • Call people “Satan” and Stumbling Blocks!?
  • Refer to people as perverts?

The examples being set by many post-modern preachers and pastors is appalling. Their agenda and practice ranges from CEO-types, dictators and control-freaks, to showmen, and the timid pacifist. (Finding an authentic ‘Fully devoted follower of Jesus styled pastor’ is a tough assignment. But, they are out there, and I strongly suggest you keep looking until you find one. And, for your own sake, don’t put anything ahead of finding a Church and pastor who models and follows the One and Only, Jesus.)

You may be asking, “So, what does the REAL JESUS look like?” It would take more time and space than I can afford at this time to describe all of the characteristics and traits of Jesus, found in the Bible. But, referring to Him as The Lion of Judah will get you started in the right direction. You can do that in your spare time. I want to focus on just one trait: The dependability and resolve of Jesus.

  1. TO FULFILL THE LAW

Matthew 5:17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill the Law and the Prophets.”

  1. TO CALL SINNERS

Mark 2:17 “And hearing this, Jesus *said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

  1. TO SAVE THE WORLD

John 12:47 If anyone hears My teachings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.”

  1. TO CAST FIRE & BRING DIVISION UPON THE EARTH

Luke 12:49 “I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! Verse 50,  But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! Verse 51, Do you think that I came to provide peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather to create division;

I have heard so many preachers and bible teachers try to justify or explain away these Words of Jesus because they just cannot fathom the gentle and sweet ‘dashboard Jesus’ saying such things as we find in the verses cited.  These same confused preachers really get tied in a knot over John 14:12.  They will begin their commentary of teaching it with, “what this really means is…”.

Jesus said what He meant and meant exactly what He said.  We need to get over it and get on with it.

Matthew 16:21– 23, “From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.

Remember, Jesus came to earth for these stated reasons:

TO TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH. This, too, is our calling!

TO BRING A SWORD. This, too, is our calling!

TO FULFILL THE LAW. This, too, is our calling!

TO CALL SINNERS. This, too, is our calling!

TO SAVE THE WORLD through Jesus. In a very real sense, this, too, is our calling, by lifting the Name of Jesus, telling others and leading them to Him

TO CAST FIRE & BRING DIVISION UPON THE EARTH. This, too, is our calling!

Don’t be led or misled by the sheep. Follow the Lion of Judah!

BANDWAGON CHRISTIANITY

And Buckboard Preachers

There is a show in town. Some fella’ has parked his bandwagon on a nearby acre of ground and is inviting others to join him. He is saying, “Come on! Jump on the wagon. We’re going places.”

I wondered, ‘what sort of places might this fellow be going?’ So, I went to this man’s acre to take a look-see.

I guess I was a bit wide-eyed when I got there. I hadn’t seen something like this in a while. Right there on this acre lot was a big, freshly painted bandwagon.

But I also noticed that there was nothing attached to the wagon that would pull it. No horses, no engine; nothing. I thought, ‘maybe that’s coming later’.

I was browsing around this bandwagon when a man came up behind me and, with a cheery voice, announced, “Hi! I’m Buck. Who might you be?”

Slightly startled, I turned to greet a friendly looking man with a broad smile. “I’m Mike”, I replied. That’s quite the bandwagon. What’s your plans for it?”

“Well, I’m looking to have people jump on it. We’re going places with that wagon.”

“Great”, I replied, getting a little excited by this man’s excited style. “Where are you going with it?”, I asked again.

“Places! Lots and lots of places”, he answered, “besides, this is no ordinary bandwagon, that’s a Religious Bandwagon, and we have a calling.”

“Okay. Where are you going? And how are you going to get there? I don’t see any horses or an engine for your bandwagon”, I prompted.

“Aw, we’ll get to that later. Right now, we just need people to jump on! So, how about you? Why don’t you join us and jump on our bandwagon?”, Buck answered back.

“I just might”, I said. “But, hey, how did you get the name Buck?”, I queried.

“See the wagon’s front seat and the board in front of it?”, Buck asked.

“Yeah. What of it?”, I replied.

“It’s called a buckboard. And since I am the driver of this bandwagon, and I am the only one who can sit there, and that’s where I got my name. Buck, from ‘buckboard’”, he proudly announced.

I joined and jumped on Buck’s bandwagon. In fact, Buck was so persuasive, a lot of people jumped on board. It was exciting and fun. We had music, food, lectures, sermons, field trips, outings and movies.

Some time has passed, and we are still sitting on the same one acre lot, in the same bandwagon, doing the same things as when we started. So I asked Buck, “Isn’t it time we got moving? I mean, the Bible teaches us to GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES. But we’re still just sitting here asking people to jump on the bandwagon. Shouldn’t the rest of us be getting our own bandwagon and going places, too?”

“Naw. And, don’t be one of those ‘lone ranger Christians’ who wants to strike out on their own. Be part of this Bandwagon for Christ”, Buck answered.

“Okay. Sorry”, I said, “I didn’t mean to stir up any trouble. I was just asking”. And things went on as normal.

More time has passed and we finally got moving. We moved away from our old bandwagon and our one acre lot to a new, larger, brightly colored and ornate bandwagon and a larger two acre lot.

We were told we needed something new with more room in a better location. We were told the idea was to draw new Bandwagoneers. I protested, lightly, saying we had plenty of folks on his Bandwagon who were just there for a seat in the Bandwagon for the music, food, lectures, sermons, field trips, outings and movies. They weren’t actually making disciples. We need Bandwagoneers who would get on the road and make disciples for Jesus.

Buck countered with, “Naw. That’s just not right. Our folks give regularly, and we support lots of good causes, including some other missionary Bandwagoneers.”

I started to say, “But, I thought we were supposed to GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES…” but Buck cut me off.

“Yeah. You always say that, Mike. But look at all the good we’re doin’ here. Besides, ‘if you can’t GO, then just GIVE’ is what I always like to say. You need to get back on board and pull your weight, or maybe I’ll have to ask you to move along”, Buck concluded.

There was a long silence between us as we alternately looked at each other, then at the ground.

Finally, I broke the silence, smiled and said, “Buck, I think you’re right. It’s probably time I moved along. I need to go and get my own wagon, or at least find someone who will share that buckboard seat”, I said.

“Where you gonna’ go, Mike? You’ve been here a long time, and leavin’ now is a bad idea. Besides, these bandwagons are expensive and hard to manage, and you’re no wagon driver, and I am. “, Buck pleaded.

“I don’t know where I’ll end up, Buck. But, I know you don’t need me here and perhaps God is calling me to follow Him another way. We’ll have to see. But, thanks for the place in your Bandwagon for all these years. Let’s stay in touch”, I concluded and left.

Well, I left. And I got a wagon. But, not a Bandwagon. I threw in with a team of Covered Wagoneers. Covered Wagons like the early pioneers used. I knew it was a risk. I knew this type of wagon was for travel and not for a permanent settlement. But, they were less expensive, good for travel, mobile and practical. I joined a Covered Wagon Train with Jesus. Yep, a Christian Wagon Train.

All of these folks wanted to GO, AND MAKE DISCIPLES, TEACHING THEM WHAT JESUS HAD TAUGHT US; BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT; AND SENDING THEM TO DO THE SAME!

We knew we would have to stay on the move. But, the thought of thousands of us in an organic, spontaneous Christian Wagon Train was just too much to resist. We all began to feel related – like brothers and sisters from different mothers and fathers! So much so, that I changed by name to Brother Mike. (You see, it’s not about the Wagon you are pulling or riding in, it’s about the RELATIONSHIP.)

And guess what else. Everyone who came on this adventure, had their own wagon, so each of them got to sit in the driver’s seat and now can GO AND DO THE CALLING rather than GIVE and just watch.

And, oh yes. I pray for Buck.

I pray for all the Bucks out there. I pray for them to have great success on their Bandwagons. I hope this Buck prays the same for us. (The photo of Buck is an imaginary person, something like a  simile of some of the Bandwagon Drivers I have met over the years.)

Let me ask you, where are you today? Are you sitting in the back of the Bandwagon, serving the needs of the local Bandwagon, or are you ‘On mission, going daily, making disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow Jesus and to do all that He commanded?”  One is a task, the other is an adventure!

Your Brother and Friend,

Mike Young

(This has been a metaphor of sorts. It is meant to encourage all the ‘Religious Bandwagon drivers’ and all the ‘Religious Bandwagon members’ to rethink your paradigm and follow Jesus on the greatest of adventures. You are now A CHOSEN PEOPLE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR GOD’S OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 2 Peter 2:9 )

They said we could be really free. They said we could have it our way. They said we could really know good from evil. They said we wouldn’t die.

They lied.

ABORTION – Ending the life of a yet-to-be-born child. A baby, waiting for his or her chance at living outside the womb, suddenly, horribly, tragically torn apart, limb from limb, savagely murdered in the supposed safety of his or her mother’s body. What could be worse? What could rival such evil?

I can tell you what rivals the tragedy and evil of abortion. It is the robbery and of the innocence of a young person and of the murdering of the soul of a human being. It is the deliberate erasure of decency, honesty, goodness and the knowledge of right and wrong from the mind and the conscience of our youth.

I just finished watching a movie on the Disney channel named, “Free Guy”.  It is about a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story, one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way, by being good, before it is too late.

Rating: PG-13 (Language|Crude/Suggestive References|Strong Fantasy Violence)

Genre: Action, Comedy, Adventure

Original Language: English

Director: Shawn Levy

Producer: Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti, Adam Kolbrenner

First, I want to say that I was drawn into the fantasy-movie because it is a fun and silly movie about a very innocent and naive man named GUY, ( played by one of my favorite fun guys, Ryan Reynolds). GUY is neat, articulate, polite, kind and a good friend to all. I was especially drawn to Guy’s kindness and his innocence.

Guy and all of his NPC friends are characters in a violent video game and they are the victims of violence and abuse of the ‘gamers’ (the characters who playing this video game). One day, GUY accidentally finds and puts on a pair of the ‘gamers’ sun glasses and can see what is going on inside this video game. At first, he is confused by the graphics, but he begins to catch on and plays the hero to end the violence.

GUY has been programmed by the games creators, as an Artificial Intelligence experiment, and he comes to life in the program. This is where his character steals the hearts of millions (including those who watch this movie) as a hero, fighting and overcoming evil, but refusing to use the tactics of the ‘murderous’ gamer’s characters.

BEHIND THE MOVIE’S SCENES

Although rated PG-13, it uses exclamatory words such as G.d Da..it, Sh.t, F..k. At one point, one of the characters implies then repeats, “Are you saying that God is a d.ck?” It also, slyly, introduces the political topic of the evils of gun violence in real life, And remember, this was intentionally produced for and deliberately directed at youthful audience – our children.

About half way through this movie, hidden within its fun and exciting exterior, this movie, not-so-sublimely, begins making existential, moral and political statement that fit the Liberal Leftist’s, Marxist’s and Globalist’s agenda.

There is a war being waged in our real world. It has been raging for about four thousand years (see “PEFECTION, Chapter 9”). Like in the movie, the opponents in this real war have generally been known as Good and Evil. In the real world, some attribute the idea of God (Good) versus Satan (Evil).

This movie eventually, (once you are ‘good and hooked’), challenges the existence of a good and moral God and suggests that ‘good’ is possible without God; and Evil is anything you define as ‘being less than your own idea of good’. In other words, good and evil are just inventions of the human experience through your personal experience and imagination.

The movie introduces the idea is that if you eliminate God or the idea of an absolute standard of ‘Good’, you also eliminate the need for evil, and VOILA! Evil disappears. (Which is exactly what the writers and producers suggest in this movie.) The movie is subtly saying that good and evil are constructs of the mind imposed on societies through our imagination and can be eliminated by denying the existence of either.

So, YOU become your own god – just like one of the movie’s characters (GUY’S best friend), ‘Buddy’, says.

If that is all that was at hand (or in mind) with the producers, writers and actors in this movie, then, so be it. But, that is neither the beginning nor the end of this matter.

This movie does a supreme job of teaching and promoting open and free choice of sexuality, atheism, amorality, a disdain for God, situational ethics, feminism and that violence is just a game where nobody really ever gets permanently hurt. But, that’s the same lie we’ve been told before.

BACK TO THE REAL WORLD

This movie is a reflection of what is going on in our real world; it is a promotion of the Leftist Utopia, a.k.a., Marxism; you can and must be your own god. You must come together and build a city for yourselves ‘which reaches into the heavens’ and make a name for yourselves and nothing will be impossible for you.

But, let’s forget the movie, Free Guy, for a moment. Let’s come back to our real world, and to our very real World War for the hearts and minds of people.

The end of this very real and eternal cosmic struggle, which has been waged for over 4,000 years, is in sight, and the good guys seem to be losing. Our world is quickly descending into a dark and evil chaos; the call for wars and rumors of wars is escalating and the ability to wage devastating and destructive wars and to end all life on earth has never been greater. There is an increase in earthquakes, famines and incurable diseases. Evil is being called as good, and good evil; We substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; We substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! We have become wise in our own eyes and clever in our own sight! And, it is not just the world-at-large, but the postmodern church has fallen into a great and terrible state of apostasy.

Just like in the Book of Job from the Bible, God told Job, in response his lament, “Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me.” (This was God-sized sarcasm at its best.)

Job, like so many of us in our postmodern world, had begun to listen to his family and his friend’s assessments of his maladies, diseases and torments. They said his situation was his own fault because of something he had done wrong. They said he would have to fix his own problems and that God must be angry with him. They were wrong on so many levels.

Isn’t this what our friends, families, our schools and universities, the arts and media telling us? They are saying that our situation is our own fault because of something we have done wrong. They said we will have to fix his own problems and that even if there was a God, He must be angry with us. But, they are wrong on so many levels.

Can the same be said about us and the Christian Church at large? Have we been listening to the “religious-know-it-alls”, and the hirelings, for much too long now, these religious people ‘who tithe mint and dill and cummin but neglect the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness’?  Have they influenced our thinking so that we too are complaining, finding our own reasons for our sufferings and trying to create our own solutions to our malaise? Have we allowed ourselves to become self indulgent, self righteous and lazy toward the things of God, taking on a form of Godliness which lacks power?

Are we living in fear, obsessing and telling God about the sins of others, about what  needs to happen according to our opinions, rather than humbling ourselves, and praying and seeking God, turning from our wicked ways, so God will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sin and heal our land?

The Bible speaks of a remnant of God, being raised up at the right time in the closing days of this age. A foreshadowing of this was Noah and his family when were the remnant saved out of the millions on the earth before the flood (Genesis 6).  Is it now time for the remnant of God to arise once again. Is it time for us to gird ourselves for war?

Matthew chapter 24 records Jesus telling His disciples then and now, of the sign of His coming, and of the end of the age. Jesus’ narrative throws back to the tribulations of the world between AD 1 and AD 69 and gives a panorama of the coming tribulation, concluding with these verses in Matthew 24:29-31:

“But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet blast, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.”

The breaking of the 6th Tribulation Seal marks the rapture of the Church, the beginning of the 7 years of the Great Tribulation and the outpouring of the Wrath of the Lamb, at which time our task on earth is completed.

Revelation 19:11-21, says, And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many crowns; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.  And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written: “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

“Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, “Come, assemble for the great feast of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slaves, and small and great.”

“And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse, and against His army.”

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

“And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

You can find comfort by finding rest in Christ Jesus. You can be at peace in His Presence. If you don’t know Him, call on Him now. It is almost finished.

(Do you think I am ‘over thinking’ this? Do you think, perhaps, I am being too dramatic? Please, think again.)

EZEKIEL’S PROPHECY – THE INVASION OF UKRAINE – God Will Strengthen

“Russia invades Ukraine in Europe’s ‘darkest hours’ since World War II”

IS THIS THE SPARK?

Headline, Reuters:

KYIV/MARIUPOL, Ukraine, Feb 24 (Reuters) – “Russian forces invaded Ukraine on Thursday in a massed assault by land, sea and air, the biggest attack by one state against another in Europe since World War Two.

“Missiles rained down on Ukrainian cities. Ukraine reported columns of troops pouring across its borders from Russia and Belarus, and landing on the coast from the Black and Azov seas.”

This headline could have read, “The forces of God and Magog invaded Scythia on Thursday in a massive assault by land in an apparent attempt to rebuild the empire.”

The Book of Ezekiel is a prophecy about the end of days, filled with bizarre visions and puzzling revelations. There have been precursor events, foreshadowing events to the final fulfillment of this prophecy. There is much speculation about the meaning and the fulfillment of the words of Ezekiel, but there has never, in all of history, been a convergence and a concurrence of  both historical and prophetic events as we see them now.

Is this the early preparation for the final dramatic act of The End of the Age?

Ezekiel

Ezekiel 38:1, “Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, verse 2, “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, verse 3, and say, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Verse 4. So I will turn you around and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them magnificently dressed, a great contingent with shield and buckler, all of them wielding swords; Verse 5. Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with buckler and helmet; Verse 6. Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops, many peoples with you.”

Theme

Ezekiel the priest, assures his fellow Jews, through this prophecy, that God will one day, (FIRST), return them to Jerusalem, and (SECONDLY), restore the temple. The Jews were restored to Israel in 1948. The temple is yet to be rebuilt, but that day is drawing near.

Beneath the surface and you’ll find timeless lessons about God and his relationship with you:

  • He’d rather forgive you than judge you.
  • He remains faithful even if you don’t remain faithful.
  • He can use anything, even something bad, to accomplish his greater good.

Ezekiel wrote this book to the Israelites living in exile. They needed to know that the God of Israel was God even in pagan Babylon. Ezekiel warned the people that their idolatry would be judged. Later, after Jerusalem’s destruction, he wrote to encourage them that God would bring them back to Judah and Jerusalem. (excerpt from Biblegateway.com).

WHO ARE THE ‘PLAYERS’?

GogGog and Magog appear in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran as individuals, tribes, or lands. In Ezekiel 38, Gog is an individual and Magog is his land; in Genesis 10, Magog is a man and eponymous ancestor of a nation, but no Gog is mentioned; and centuries later Jewish tradition changed Ezekiel’s “Gog from Magog” into “Gog and Magog”.

The Gog prophecy is meant to be fulfilled at the approach of what is called the “end of days“, but not necessarily the end of the world.

Jewish eschatology viewed Gog and Magog as enemies to be defeated by the Messiah, which would usher in the age of the Messiah.

Christianity‘s interpretation is more starkly apocalyptic: making Gog and Magog, nations rather than individuals, allies of Satan, aligned against God at the end of the millennium, as described in the Book of Revelation.

Meshech, Tubal:  Meshech (also spelled Meshek) and Tubal were sons of Japheth, one of the three sons of Noah who survived the flood with him (Genesis 10:1–2). Meshech (whose name means “long, tall, or drawn out by force”) is the sixth son of Japheth. The land of Meshech is closely associated with that of Tubal, especially in a prophecy of Ezekiel. The region of Meshech is often identified as being north of the Black Sea (southern Russia and Ukraine and possibly the Republic of Georgia), and Tubal as an area in central Turkey.

The land of Meshech is used in Psalm 120:5 as a generic reference to barbarous regions where “those who hate peace” live (verse 6). The lands where Meshech’s and Tubal’s descendants settled figure significantly in some prophecies of Ezekiel, and it is in that book where they are mentioned most. In the prophecy of Ezekiel 38, Meshech and Tubal are ruled by Gog, a prince over those territories: “The word of the LORD came to me: ‘Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say, “Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal”’” (Ezekiel 38:1–3). Ezekiel repeats God’s words of judgment against the descendants of the two sons of Japheth when he prophesies that God will defeat them in a war against Israel (Ezekiel 39:1–5).

Many biblical scholars equate the land of Gog in Ezekiel’s prophecies with Russia, who will attack Israel “from the far north” (Ezekiel 38:15). Meshech and Tubal could be two of the “many nations” joining Russia in their invasion of Israel (verse 6).

The advance of the alliance involving Meshech and Tubal will be like “a cloud covering the land” (Ezekiel 38:9). Some commentators believe this war, often called the Battle of Gog and Magog, will be one of the events leading up to the end-times’ tribulation. Others believe it will occur close to the midpoint of the tribulation, since Israel will feel secure at the time, “dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates” (verse 11).

God will defeat this powerful alliance (Ezekiel 38:22) to reveal His greatness to all the world (verse 23) and restore the people of Israel to a right relationship with Himself (Ezekiel 39:21–29). Meshech and Tubal, despite the strength of their numbers and help of their allies, will fall. (GotQuestions.org)

Cush: The Kingdom of Kush; Assyrian: was an ancient kingdom in Nubia, centered along the Nile Valley in what is now northern Sudan and southern Egypt.

Put – Phut or Put is the third son of Ham (one of the sons of Noah), in the biblical Table of Nations (Genesis 10:6; 1 Chronicles 1:8). The name Put (or Phut) is used in the Bible for Ancient Libya, but a few scholars proposed the Land of Punt known from Ancient Egyptian annals.

Gomer: The Hebrew name Gomer refers to the Cimmerians, who dwelt in what is now southern Russia, “beyond the Caucusus”, and attacked Assyria in the late 7th century BC.

Beth-togarmah: Togarmah is a figure in the “table of nations” in Genesis 10, the list of descendants of Noah that represents the peoples known to the ancient Hebrews. Togarmah is among the descendants of Japheth and is thought to represent some people located in Anatolia. Medieval sources claimed that Togarmah was the legendary ancestor of several peoples of the Caucasus -including Armenians and Georgians.

The Prophecy against Gog – Future Invaders Destroyed

Ezekiel 39:1 “And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; verse 2, and I will turn you around, lead you on a rope, take you up from the remotest parts of the north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel. Verse 3. Then I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows fall from your right hand. Verse 4. You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops, and the peoples who are with you; I will give you as food to every kind of predatory bird and animal of the field. Verse 5. You will fall on the open field; for it is I who have spoken,” declares the Lord GOD. Verse 6. “And I will send fire upon Magog and those who inhabit the coastlands in safety; and they will know that I am the LORD.

Verse 7. “And I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel; and I will not allow My holy name to be profaned anymore. But the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. Verse 8. Behold, it is coming and it shall be done,” declares the Lord GOD. “That is the day of which I have spoken.

Verse 9. “Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both bucklers and shields, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears, and for seven years they will make fires of them. Verse 10. They will not take wood from the field or gather firewood from the forests, because they will make fires with the weapons; and they will take the spoils of those who plundered them and seize the plunder of those who plundered them,” declares the Lord GOD.

Verse 11. “On that day I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea, and it will block the way of those who would pass by. So they will bury Gog there with all his horde, and they will call it the Valley of Hamon-gog. Verse 12. For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them in order to cleanse the land. Verse 13. And all the people of the land will bury them; and it will be to their renown on the day that I appear in My glory,” declares the Lord GOD. Verse 14. “They will also select men who will constantly pass through the land, burying those who were passing through, those left on the surface of the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will conduct a search. Verse 15. As those who pass through the land pass through and anyone sees a human bone, then he will set up a marker by it until the burial detail has buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog. Verse 16. And even the name of the city will be Hamonah. So they will cleanse the land.”’

Verse 17.“Now as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Say to every kind of bird and to every animal of the field: “Assemble and come, gather from every direction to My sacrifice, which I am going to sacrifice for you as a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel; and you will eat flesh and drink blood. Verse 18. You will eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the leaders of the earth, as though they were rams, lambs, goats, and bulls, all of them fattened livestock of Bashan. Verse 19. So you will eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk,  from My sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. Verse 20. You will eat your fill at My table with horses and charioteers, with warriors and all the men of war,” declares the Lord GOD.

Verse 21. “And I will place My glory among the nations; and all the nations will see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them. Verse 22. And the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God, from that day onward. Verse 23. The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their wrongdoing, because they were disloyal to Me, and I hid My face from them; so I handed them over to their adversaries, and all of them fell by the sword. Verse 24. In accordance with their uncleanness and their offenses I dealt with them, and I hid My face from them.”’”

Future Israel Restored

Verse 25. Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: “Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on all the house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name. Verse 26. They will forget their disgrace and all their treachery which they perpetrated against Me, when they live securely on their own land with no one to make them afraid. Verse 27. When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the lands of their enemies, then I shall show Myself holy through them in the sight of the many nations. Verse 28. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then I gathered them again to their own land; and I will leave none of them there any longer. Verse 29. I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” declares the Lord GOD.

NOT YET THE END

Ezekiel was written between 593–571 B.C., about 2,600 years ago and refers to a climatic battle between God and the forces of evil, as recorded in the book of Revelation. The word, “Armageddon” ultimately comes from the Hebrew word Har-Magedone, which means “Mount Megiddo,” the predicted location of the battle.

the Battle of Armageddon will be a real battle in the future, near the end of the tribulation. Demonic influences will cause the kings of the earth to gather their armies for an all-out assault on Jerusalem. The Antichrist will be leading the charge (Revelation 16:13–16). Jesus Christ will return to earth with the armies of heaven (Matthew 25:31; Revelation 19:14); His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4); He will defeat the forces of evil (Revelation 19:15–16); He will cast the Antichrist and the false prophet into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20); He will bind Satan; and He will set up His kingdom on earth for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1–6). At Armageddon the Lord Jesus Christ “treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:19), and all things will be made right.

The placement of the future and final battle of Armageddon, as foretold in the book of Ezekiel and as described in greater detail in the 16th chapter of the Book of the Revelation, will occur after the pouring out of the 7th Tribulation Bowl of Wrath – at the end of the Great Tribulation period.

WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT?

We are now, by all accounts and appearances, experiencing the breaking of the 5th Tribulation Seal.

1. There are those who will be martyred during this 5th Seal. (Revelation 6:9-11)

2. The Day of The Lord will not come unless the apostasy comes first. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4).

3. The Day of The Lord will not come until the man of lawlessness is revealed and he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4).

We are on the precipice of the 6th Triblation Seal. We will mericifully be taken from the earth at or before the end of the breaking of the 6th Tribulation Seal and before the breaking of the 7th Tribulation seal.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU?

First, you must be prepared for what is upon you. It is my desire to keep this short and to the point:

.

Secondly, you can take heart. The Lord Jesus will take His Own from the earth to dwell with Him in His Father’s House.  He will wipe away every tear from your eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

WHEN DOES THE 7 YEARS OF GREAT TRIBULATION BEGIN?

WHEN DID THE TRIBULATION BEGIN?

THE JOURNEY TO PERFECTION

IT IS TIME TO GRID UP

An Urgent Message of Hope and Encouragement

GIRD UP – (From Strong’s Bible Concordance): encompass, equip, prepare for confrontation or for war, as in to gird oneself “tighten the belt and tuck up loose garments to free the body in preparation for a task or journey.” To jeer at.

Our world is quickly descending into a dark and evil chaos; the call for wars and rumors of wars is escalating and the ability to wage devastating and destructive wars and to end all life on earth has never been greater. There is an increase in earthquakes, famines and diseases.

God told Job, in response  his lament, “Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me.” (This was God-sized sarcasm at its best.)

Job had begun to listen to his wife and friends assessment of his maladies, diseases and torment. They said his situation was his own fault because of something he had done wrong. They said God was angry with him. They were wrong on so many levels.

Can the same be said about the Christian Church at large? Have we been listening to the “religious-know-it-alls”, and the hirelings, for much too long now, these religious people ‘who tithe mint and dill and cummin but neglect the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness’?  Have they influenced our thinking so that we too are complaining, finding our own reasons for suffering under a greater spiritual malaise? Have we allowed ourselves to become self indulgent, self righteous and lazy toward the things of God, taking on a form of Godliness which lacks power?

Job had begun to obsess over the possibility that his children had sinned and cursed God, ‘so Job did continually’! This gave Satan an open door into Job’s life. Have we, like Job, become overly zealous with instructing God, thereby opened a door for Satan into our lives?

Are we living in fear, obsessing and telling God about the sins of others, about what we need to happen rather than humbling ourselves, and praying and seeking God, turning from our wicked ways, so God will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sin and heal our land?

Soon after considering his error, Job lamented that “the very thing I have feared has come upon me”. (Job 3:25). Are we so different?

Is it past the time that we should have humbled ourselves and sought the face of God?

THE REMNANT

The Bible speaks of a remnant of God, being raised up at the right time in the closing days of this age. A foreshadowing of this was Noah and his family when were the remnant saved out of the millions on the earth before the flood (Genesis 6). There was also Lot and his two daughters survived the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, a very small remnant, indeed (Genesis 19). When Elijah despaired that he was the only one left in Israel who had not bowed down to idols, God assured him that He had reserved a remnant of 7,000 “whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him” (1 Kings 19).

Is it now time for the remnant of God to arise once again. Is it time for us to gird ourselves for war?

Is God now saying to us, as He told Job, as a response to our lament, “Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me.”

If so, this time it is not sarcasm. It is our time.

HIS GLORIOUS RETURN – THE END OF THIS AGE

To repeat, “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.

Revelation 7:1-13, says, ”After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind would blow on the earth, or on the sea, or on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, holding the seal of the living God; and he called out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth, or the sea, or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads.”

The 144,000

“And I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:

“from the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand, from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand, from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand, from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, and from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.”

A Multitude from the Tribulation

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all the tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; and they *cried out with a loud voice, saying,

“Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

“And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying,

“Amen, blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might belong to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

“Then one of the elders responded, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. They will no longer hunger nor thirst, nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any scorching heat; for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

A NEW SONG – THE TRIBULATION SCROLLS ARE BROKEN

Revelation 5:9-14, proclaims, ”And they sang a new song, saying,

“Worthy are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slaughtered, and You purchased people for God with Your blood from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

You have made them into a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”

“Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,

“Worthy is the Lamb that was slaughtered to receive power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing.”

“And I heard every created thing which is in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth, or on the sea, and all the things in them, saying,

“To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion forever and ever.”

And the four living creatures were saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.”

THE ARMIES WHICH ARE IN HEAVEN

Revelation 19:11-21, says, ”And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.

Take comfort. Be at peace. It is finished.

GNOSTICS, JUDAIZERS, FALSE TEACHERS, HYPOCRITES & PHARISEES – Keeping it Simple

What do all these have in common? They all say that Jesus is not enough. They all say “Jesus, plus these other things”. The Bible says Jesus is the only way to life, both now, and later in heaven.

Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” John 14:6-7

“Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me; just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life, only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” John 10:7-18

From the day Jesus spoke these words, until not, those who heard these words are  divided. Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?” But others said, “These are not the sayings of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”

WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

The odds of 1 to 100, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000 is 1 to 10 to the 157th power.

These are the odds against – yes, AGAINST – Jesus Christ having fulfilled just 48 of the over 450 prophecies written about Him.

In order to give you some perspective, electrons are very small objects. They’re smaller than atoms. It would take 2.5 TIMES 10 to the 15th power of them, laid side by side, to make one inch. Even if we counted 250 of these electrons each minute, and counted day and night, it would still take 19 million years just to count a line of electrons one-inch long.  19 MILLION YEARS!

Read that again, please.  Why is that significant?

It is significant because it gives us evidence that the Bible is true and correct when it says that Christ Jesus came to earth and is the Savior of the world.

It gives YOU evidence, if you choose to pay attention, that your life can be eternal with the only LIFE source which gives eternal Peace, Safety, Security, Joy and fulfillment the universe has ever known or ever will know.

Just think about it: It is a scientific and a mathematical impossibility that HAS COME TO PASS!

No odds can defy the REALITY of Jesus Christ.

NOW, WHAT ABOUT THE ‘OTHERS’?

Gnostics

Gnosticism is a collection of religious ideas and systems from the late 1st century AD among Jewish and early Christian sects. These various groups emphasized personal spiritual knowledge (gnosis) above the orthodox teachings, traditions, and authority of religious institutions. They view material existence as flawed or evil; Gnostic cosmogony generally presents a distinction between a supreme, hidden God and a malevolent lesser divinity who is responsible for creating the material universe. Gnostics considered salvation to be direct knowledge of the supreme divinity in the form of mystical or esoteric insight. Many Gnostics do not deal in concepts of sin and repentance, but with illusion and enlightenment. There are those who call themselves Christian, but practice forms of Gnosticism, which are heretical to the Christian faith.

The “Emergent Church movement” has been a recent variety of Gnosticism, approving of abortion, mysticism, new age idealism, homosexuality and more, both in their ordination practices and in their personal lives.

The Prosperity Gospel, although claiming to hold to a form of the Christian Gospel, is a form of Gnosticism.

Judaizers

In the early church, those who taught a combination of God’s grace and human effort for salvation, were called “Judaizers.” The word Judaizer comes from a Greek verb meaning “to live according to Jewish customs.” The word appears in Galatians 2:14 where Paul describes how he confronted Peter for forcing Gentile Christians to “Judaize.”

A Judaizer taught that, in order for a Christian to truly be right with God, he must conform to the Mosaic Law. Circumcision, especially, was promoted as necessary for salvation. Gentiles had to become Jewish proselytes first, and then they could come to Christ. The doctrine of the Judaizers was a mixture of grace (through Christ) and works (through the keeping of the Law). This false doctrine was dealt with in Acts 15 and strongly condemned in the book of Galatians.

The Catholic church, oddly enough, is a form of Judaizers. It is a mixture of grace through Christ and works through keeping the doctrines of the laws and rituals of the church.

False Teachers

Matthew 7:1516, warns us to, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.”  The word beware means all of us should be alert, but especially shepherds, to identify not just false teaching, but false teachers, whose ways are subtle. They’re clothing themselves with lamb’s wool while they’re wolves.

The Apostle Paul used the same Greek word for beware in Acts 20:28–29 when he said, “Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.”

False Teachers

2 Peter 2:1, warns us, “But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Verse 2. Many will follow their indecent behavior, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; verse 3. and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Verse 4. For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, held for judgment; Verse 5, and did not spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; Verse 6, and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example of what is coming for the ungodly; Verse 7, and if He rescued righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the perverted conduct of unscrupulous people 8 (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), Verse 9, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, verse 10, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt passion, and despise authority.

Reckless, self-centered, they speak abusively of angelic majesties without trembling, verse 11. whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a demeaning judgment against them before the Lord. Verse 12. But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, using abusive speech where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed, verse 13, suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions as they feast with you, verse 14, having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having hearts trained in greed, accursed children; verse 15, abandoning the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the reward of unrighteousness; verse 16, but he received a rebuke for his own offense, for a mute donkey, speaking with a human voice, restrained the insanity of the prophet.

Verse 17. These are springs without water and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved. Verse 18. For, while speaking out arrogant words of no value they entice by fleshly desires, by indecent behavior, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error, verse 19, promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what anyone is overcome, by this he is enslaved. Verse 20. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. Verse 21. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. Verse 22. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”

Many in the contemporary Pentecostal movements practice the ways of Balaam, the son of Beor, and claim a type of hyper-grace to justify their sins and to escape the coming punishment. They claim “God loves us so much, He can love us no less”, a nonsensical adage to soothe a guilt ridden soul and to satisfy the lusts of the rebellious.

Hypocrites & Pharisees

Matthew 23:1, says, ”Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, verse 2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses. Verse 3. Therefore, whatever they tell you, do and comply with it all, but do not do as they do; for they say things and do not do them. Verse 4. And they tie up heavy burdens and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as their finger. Verse 5. And they do all their deeds to be noticed by other people; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments. Verse 6. And they love the place of honor at banquets, and the seats of honor in the synagogues, verse 7, and personal greetings in the marketplaces, and being called Rabbi by the people. Verse 8. But as for you, do not be called Rabbi; for only One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers and sisters. Verse 9. And do not call anyone on earth your father; for only One is your Father, He who is in heaven. Verse 10. And do not be called leaders; for only One is your Leader, that is, Christ. Verse 11. But the greatest of you shall be your servant. Verse 12. Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.

Verse 13. “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites…”

THE FALSE CHURCH EMERGES

THE AGE OF APOSTASY

I. Jesus’ model of ministry – versus – “false church”:

Jesus said to follow Him. (AD 27-29).

Jesus was baptized, and the Spirit came upon Him. (Matthew 3:16) We must be baptized. (Acts 2:38).

Jesus was tempted, tested, by the devil. (Matthew 4) We must be tempted and tested. (Matthew 5).

Jesus began His ministry of calling people to Himself, making disciples, teaching and preaching the Gospel, practicing the Gospel.

Jesus instructs His disciples on the cost of following Him.

Leave your home and come with Me, (Matthew 19).

Forsake your former life and follow Me.

Leave your families and follow Me ,(Luke 14:26).

Give up all you have, or you cannot follow Me, (Luke 14:33).

If you love your life, you will lose it, (Matthew 10:39).

Jesus walks with His disciples, teaching and showing His Gospel.

Jesus sends His disciples to do His Work, (Matthew 10).

Jesus continues to minister, teach and preach.

Jesus is crucified. (Matthew 27).

Jesus ascends to His Father and sends His disciples to continue His Works. (Matthew 28) We are to make disciples, baptizing them, preaching the Gospel, teaching them all He commanded. (Matthew 28).

A very abbreviated history leading to the Great Apostasy:

II. The emergence of the False church

AD 1 The Church of Jesus Christ, The Body of Christ, had no buildings, little money and no wealth. The Church was a Movement.

Jesus said to make disciples; collect no money except to make your journey.

The penalty for becoming a Christian was often death.

The Church grew exponentially.

AD 49 The Church expanded into Greece. The Church became a philosophy to many. The Church grew and size and influence.

AD 313 The Church expanded into Rome and it gained recognition. It grew in power and popularity. It obtained wealth, buildings, property and influence. It became an institution.

AD 380 The Church expanded into Europe. It was becoming a worldwide phenomenon. It grew in wealth, stature, power and influence. It had become a culture.

AD 1607 The Church reaches America.

AD 1681 The Church became corporate. It had become a business and incorporated. It became regulated by the government.

The Corporate Church grew. It needed money to support growth and expansion, which meant the Corporate Church needed more people.

AD 1777 The state of Virginia granted tax exemption to houses of worship.

AD 1894 The corporate church was granted tax exemptions by the Federal Government.

AD 1954 The Federal Government regulated what a church could and could not say in order to retain tax-exempt status.

The church continued to grow, and in order to attract more people the Corporate Church lowered its membership and doctrinal standards. More people became ‘members’ and gave more money to support more growth.

The Church corporation is complete with leaders, boards and membership and a business model.

Local churches compete against one another for members (customers). The church is selling itself in “three line slogans”.

The Church members now have choices and have become religious consumers. Church people can shop around for the religious brand and standards that best suits them. (2 Timothy 3)

The Leadership (pastors and preachers) have become CEOs, disciples have become church leaders, growing their 501(c)(3) business models.

Record numbers of pastors quitting because of stress, burnout or are being fired by their congregations (some stats say 1500 – 1700 leave “the ministry” each month).

Church debt in America soars; church foreclosures soar.

AD 1968 The church ordains homosexuals as clergy.

AD 1972 The United church of Christ ordains homosexual clergy

AD 2010 The Lutheran church ordains homosexual clergy

AD 2012 The Presbyterian church USA ordains homosexual clergy (not to be confused with the Presbyterian church PCA).

The Episcopal Church in the United States and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) have also allowed ordination of openly gay and lesbian candidates for ministry for some years.

Internationally, churches that have ordained openly lesbian or gay clergy include the Church of Scotland, the Church of England, the Church in Wales, the Church of Sweden, the Church of Norway, the Church of Denmark, the Church of Iceland, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, the Evangelical Church in Germany, the Methodist Church in Britain, the Protestant Church in the Netherlands, the United Protestant Church in Belgium, the Swiss Reformed Church, the United Protestant Church of France, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, Anglican Church in Canada, the Old Catholic Church, the Czechoslovak Hussite Church and the United Church of Christ in Japan.

AD 2024 The church is losing and has lost influence. The church in 2020 is losing members.

AD 2024 The church is teaching and living a different Gospel than that of the Apostles.

THE AGE OF APOSTASY IS WELL UNDER WAY

We, The Church, The Body of Christ, must be prepared. We must be doing those Works that Jesus commanded.

(Note: This article is NOT an indictment against The Church, The Body of Christ.

This is a brief view of the ‘track’ or history of the emergence and growth of the FALSE CHURCH around the world. It is a sign of The Great Apostasy which Jesus warned about – the breaking of the 5th Seal of the tribulation.

There are many faithful Gospel teaching Churches in America and around the world. But, the facts remain, we have entered a time of Great Apostasy, and we need to be prepared, for Jesus’ return is near.)

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN – Part 13

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN– Part 13

John 1:29-34, says, The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He in behalf of whom I said, ‘After me is coming a Man who has proved to be my superior, because He existed before me.’ And I did not recognize Him, but so that He would be revealed to Israel, I came baptizing in water.” And John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’ And I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

At first glance, this seems to be a narrative, by John, of his experience encountering Jesus for the first time. But this is much more. It is a profound prophetic event and John is telling us of what was, what is and what is to come. Reader beware.

This is prophecy fulfilled. It is important to remember that prophecy is an ongoing process. For example, once the Christ-child was born, prophecy was fulfilled, but that was only the beginning of what was to come. So it is when John says, ” The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

John, through these verses, is identifying the identity of Christ, the purpose of Christ and the immediate future of Christ.

Jesus is called the Lamb of God in John 1:29 and John 1:36, which is referring to Him as the perfect and ultimate sacrifice for sin. In order to understand who Christ was and what He did, we must begin with the Old Testament, which contains prophecies concerning the coming of Christ as a “guilt offering” (Isaiah 53:10). In fact, the whole sacrificial system established by God in the Old Testament set the stage for the coming of Jesus Christ, who is the perfect sacrifice God would provide as atonement for the sins of His people (Romans 8:3; Hebrews 10). (taken from GotQuestions.org)

It is not enough to just know about this prophetic event, you must know that it is true and that it impacts and forever changes the trajectory of your life as a follower of Jesus. You are no longer your own and fate no longer has any charge over you. You are now of a royal priesthood, an ambassador for Christ, on mission with Him. This is your calling and your future.

You are to go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that He has commanded.

You are now a soldier in God’s called army. You are to be engaged in the spiritual war leading to the End of Days. You are to now stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Your struggle is no longer against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, you are to take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day.

Next, John is revealing the eternal nature of Jesus as God when he says, ‘After me is coming a Man who has proved to be my superior, because He existed before me.’

You are to experience the most astounding of all miracles. Not only are you called, you are to be sanctified in the truth, which is the reason Jesus came into the world.

And, you are to be made one, just as the Father is in Jesus and Jesus is in The Father, you also are in Them, so that the world may believe that The Father sent Jesus.

Please get the significance of being made one with Jesus and the Father. You have been folded into the Holy Trinity by the prayers of Jesus. You are being made into the righteousness of God, a humble servant yet a warrior of the cross!

As Romans 3:22 says, – But it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction,

As Romans 5:17 says, – For if by the offense of the one, death reigned through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

As Romans 8:10 says, – If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

As Philippians 1:11 says, – having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.

And, as Philippians 3:9 says, – and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith.

John is a first-hand witness to this prophetic event. He is telling of what he personally saw, experienced and touched with his own hands. And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’ And I myself have seen, and have testified, that this is the Son of God.”

Finally, John tells us that this is the Son of God Who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. It is important to know, again, the significance of what this will mean to you. Matthew reports on this event in Matthew 3:12 when he says, “His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

THERE ARE FIVE POINTS GIVEN IN VERSE 12 WHICH ENCAPSULATES THE ENTIRE TRIBULATION PERIOD, BEGINNING WITH THE BREAKING OF THE TRIBULATION SEALS, CONTINUING THROUGH THE TRUMPET AND BOWL JUDGMENTS, INCLUDING THE  WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT AND CULMINATING WITH THE DESTRUCTION OF THE 1ST HEAVEN AND THE FIRST EARTH WITH INTENSE HEAT.

(a)  “His winnowing fork is in His hand:  Cleansing, refining, purifying His Church.

(b)  He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor:  Preparation through tribulation.

(c)  He will gather His wheat into the barn:  Jesus gathering His Church through the rapture and taking us to our eternal Home.

(d)  He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire: The Great and Terrible Day of the Lord and the destruction of the first heavens and earth.

Listen and read carefully. The Ultimate Purpose of God’s Eternal Plan is Perfection. He is maturing His people, of all the ages, by His Plan, to live in perfect harmony with Him and with one another. In the end, God is going to destroy this earth and heavens with an intense heat, and will create a New and Perfect heaven and earth.

Having become a Christian, a disciple of Jesus, you are no longer of this world. You are to take up your rightful place as a child of God, and as the righteousness of God, you must stop thinking as this world thinks. God is preparing you to be an active participant in the events of these Last Days.
